How long should I leave my Fun Cup in for?

We recommend a maximum of 12 hours and cleaning your menstrual cup at least twice a day. Here are a few ways you can clean your cup:

  • Rinse thoroughly and use a mild, unscented soap.
  • If you are on the go you can rinse the Fun Cup with water and clean it properly when you can.
  • Boiling it in saucepan for 5-10 minutes

The fun cup holds 4-6 x as much blood as a tampon, making your heavier days a lot easier.

Our Fun Cups come with a antimicrobial, discreet storage bag. The Tyvek ® storage bag is waterproof, breathable and bacteria resistant. Keeping your cup safe whilst not in use. Store your menstrual cup in it’s bag and take it on the go. We do not recommend storing your Fun Cup in anything like a plastic bag or a closed container.

How Should I clean my Menstrual Cup in Public?

When you are out in public and you know you’re going to be removing your menstrual cup, wash your hands before entering the cubicle and removing The Fun Cup.

If you’re in a toilet cubicle without a sink:

You have a few options, simply tip The Fun Cup into the toilet and wipe it down with some toilet paper, before inserting it again.

Alternatively, if you have a bottle of water with you, you can use a small amount to rinse the Fun Cup over the toilet.

If you’re in a private cubicle that has its own sink:

This makes it a lot easier, simply empty the Fun Cup into the toilet and rinse out your menstrual cup in the sink and reinsert it.

I have a heavy flow. Can I use the FUN CUP?

Absolutely!  The most common realisation when using the Fun Cup is that you don’t actually bleed as much as tampons and pads make you believe. You will probably only lose around 2-4 tablespoons (30-60ml) throughout your entire cycle each month. Our Fun Cup comes in 2 sizes:

SIZE A holds 20ml which is four times as much as a regular tampon

SIZE B holds 30ml which is six times as much as a regular tampon.

I couldn't get my menstrual cup in the first time. Any advice?

Any menstrual cup comes with a learning curve, but we think it’s worth it. The first time you try it, give yourself time to get a feel for how it fits in your body. If you find yourself tensing your muscles, take a few deep breaths and try to relax, or even walk away and come back to it later.

One quick thing to check is that it’s covering your cervix. If you’re experiencing a lot of leaking, your cup might be crumpled or sitting on one side of your cervix instead of under it.

We recommend using a backup method for the first couple of cycles, until you feel secure that you’re inserting the Fun Cup correctly every time.

Can I use the toilet with a menstrual cup in?

Yes, The Fun Cup is made with soft, flexible silicone that doesn’t interfere with your body’s normal functions. Some people find that their cup gets dislodged during a bowel movement, however. If this happens, just push it back when you’re done, bear down, and twist to create a new seal.

How do I remove my Menstrual cup?

The Fun Cup uses suction to keep it in place, you will need to be okay with using your fingers inside of you. To remove the menstrual cup you will need to make sure you break the seal of the cup. This can be done by gripping the base of the cup with your two fingers and pinching it to change the shape. You will then be able easily wriggle it down and out.

Is a menstrual cup painful?

So many women wonder if a menstrual cup is painful, but you’ll be happy to know that the answer is no! The Fun Cup can be so comfortable, you won’t even notice it’s there!

Discomfort is common when using a menstrual cup for the first few times, until you find the spot. It will take some time adjusting at first, just like it did when you started with other sanitary products. And if you’re worried about the size of a menstrual cup, you may just be surprised by how much our vagina’s can expand and bend to accommodate you!

I'm scared my menstrual cup might get lost inside, can this happen?

The simple answer is no. There isn’t anywhere for your menstrual cup to go. Your cervix is like the end of a rubber balloon, and inside lies your uterus. You can reach the entrance of your cervix and touch the tip of it with your finger sometimes, but you can’t go any further than that. The Fun Cup fits quite comfortably between the vagina walls, beneath your cervix and catches your period.

Which cup should I choose?
